Here a little flashback to past Wednesday, Amal Clooney wore a purple flower pin at the ECHR court. This pin is a Symbol of Armenian Genocide Centennial (1915-2015).
100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide motto is “I remember and demand,” Forget Me Not flower is the symbol of today’s briefing, explained the president’s chief of staff, events dedicated to 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide coordinating direction.
The flower has four main components: the color purple, mauve, yellow and black colors.
Black guye symbolizes the horrors of genocide and the memory of the genocide of the past: the color purple inner radial open to all participants familiar with the idea of being present as a symbol of the prevailing color purple is widely prevalent in the consciousness of the church as a basis for future equipment tarrerum` Yellow color picture of the gives hope of living memorial for victims of lights symbolizing the sun, the 12 pillars arranged in a circular form of eternity.

I think you’re getting involved with political issues a lot rather than fashion and A.Clooney, unlessyou’re a historian I think you should leave it to historians.. Holocaust is a genocide..I think you should read about the other side of the story..

I think that it was interesting to explain the significance of this badge. I like her because she is a working and accomplished woman and she is not affraid to tell her ideas.

As a candidate human rights lawyer myself ,I find her accomplished,and hard working, I agree with you,.however because you have followers from different nationalities (I think you do a great job) I request that you should be a little bit more careful giving detailed information about those issues,. and dont forget Lawyers always dont defend the ideas they belive..Thanks..

To “Heidi” – I think you are taking it too personal. Nati did very well on informing us about the pin, since Amal was wearing it. Besides, this blogs also focus on Amals NEWS and, even though the people who come here love fashion, we are not that shallow to not appreciate the News side of it as well. Being lover of fashion does not means we are air heads who do not like to be informed of things and also be intellectuals. Amal herself is proving that a woman can be all those things; an intellectual, a serious professional and a fashionista. Why not? I have the same interest in reading reports on Amal’s work and career, as for her fashion choices. So, telling Nati to restrain from doing that is like telling all of us visitors that we are pathetic idiots who can only think of dresses and shoes in our heads. So…Nati, please keep it coming, you are doing a great job! And even if you tried to please everyone, there will be always haters and people who will still criticize you. Just trust your guts and good judgment, and, like you said, don’t be afraid to express your ideas 🙂

Good reply, Nati. Amal is a human rights lawyer and your blog clearly states that it is about her news as well as her style. She is deeply involved in political issues and you represent some of them in a fair and impartial way.

I agree with you Andrea! I personally can say that my “infatuation” with Amal is because of all the things that she brings to the table. She comes across as a super feminine and gentle-Lady, who transcend grace and class. And on the other hand, we see her being a badass lawyer in court, unafraid to be herself. Such attitude can inspire many women, young or older, house-wives or other professionals, to keep pushing the envelope to be respected for our skills, smarts and accomplishments, but still remain a woman who can turn heads for that alluring, enticing and charming demeanor with which Amal has gotten us smitten. ;-). A power that, in Amal’s case, may not necessarily be caused only by expensive designer dresses. She has also gotten as much attention wearing long and large legal robes. That ladies…is powerful! So let she inspire us… and perhaps we can borrow some of her husband’s words and say: “Amal, whatever alchemy brought you to us, we couldn’t be prouder to be your admirers”. And as women from everywhere, lets focus on transcending from our inner-selves that special Je Ne Sais Pas Quoi that she has, with or without a Versace coat 😉

Nati, you don’t have to be a historian to explain the significance of the pin. Amal and her team were in Strasbourg to try and do justice. The Holocaust isn’t-sadly-the only genocide. Thanks for all your postings.

Precisely! One of the reasons we find Amal such a fascinating public figure is the way she defused stereotypes. She is highly intelligent, well educated woman with a successful career who looks and dresses at least as well as any “celebrity”. She is deeply invested in political causes and can, as a result, bring the issues to a wider audience.

He has been even more involved in such causes. He actually fascinates me too! I have watched many of his numerous videos on YouTube. The guy is very intelligent and educated and not only a lawyer but also a judge…and he is a QC, which means Queen Counsel; a very important distinction of a lawyer’s excellence. His firm is huge, respected and very selective and zealous of its reputation. So for Amal to be seating next to him, representing him, his clients and his firm in such important issues and Courts, says a lot about her. I am certain that she spent many long boring nights doing her homeworks, reading tedious and looooooong legal books, mastering her craft, and above all, showing the kind of determination that only the ones who work hard at anything can understand. I am becoming quite fund of her boss Mr. Geoffrey Robertson QC as well:) They rock it together, so i hope she will stay on his firm for a long time:) We need more lawyers and people of his caliber to advocate the Worldwide Human Rights cause. He is a great defender of it, and i admire Amal for having him as her role model:)

Let me also add that it is very hard for many women to find supportive mentors today, too. I know this from personal experience, especially as a woman (PhD) in a STEM field. So, it’s not just that Geoffrey is a good boss, but he’s a great mentor. You can tell by the way he treats her and what he says about her.

i understand where Heidi is coming from, but at the same time i don’t think Nati is way too involved in politics. she is merely reporting where Amal is, what she is doing, and what she is wearing. i don’t feel this blog became a political one. it is successfully maintaining its intended fun and colorful style, even when it covers Amal’s work. Also, you cannot ignore Amal’s work if you have a blog designated to her, and this blog clearly states that it is “a blog about Amal’s news & style.”

I am very glad that you posted on the significance of the pin, Nati. I have not seen it reported elsewhere and so I would have missed it otherwise. It shows that Amal personally believes in the case and the cause she is presenting at the ECHR. She is not merely a lawyer presenting a case on behalf of a client. Through this gesture we learn about her personal beliefs.
